Archive Binge: News
4 October, 2010
Unfortunately the site is taking more time and effort to maintain than we envisioned. We have temporarily suspended adding new comics
to Archive Binge to give us enough time to work on other projects. Hopefully we'll be able to add more in 2011.
New strips for existing comics continue to be added automatically by our scripts.

Also, several readers have been reporting the bug in which a week's worth of strips get dumped to your feed, and then it stalls for a week (see 18 September news item). We've tracked down the error and have fixed this one. We've run a suite of test cases on the new code and it passes all the tests. If your feed has been affected by this bug already, it will rectify itself once the actual feed reaches the "future" strip that it got up to in the dump. This will take at most a week, and then your feed should run smoothly from then on. We apologise for the quirk!

There may be another bug in the feed generation. Several people have reported a sudden dump of a week's worth of strips at once. This seems to be the opposite of the previous bug - the fix for that may have introduced this one. We are investigating, although we have been unable to reproduce this error yet.
In positive news, we've just added The Book of Biff by Chris Hallbeck. These single panels reveal slices of Biff's oddly surreal and ironic life.
16 September, 2009
New today is The System by Rosscott, which derives humour from warning sign iconography.
14 September, 2009
New today is another popular and long-running comic with a huge archive: Jonathan Rosenberg's
Goats, with over 2,500 strips.
13 September, 2009
Newly added today is a comic with one of the biggest archives anywhere: Howard Tayler's epic space opera
Schlock Mercenary. With over 3,300 strips, this is one you'll be bingeing for a while!
Also new today is Rubber Cement by Zachary Lewis.
11 September, 2009
We've added three new comics today:
- Life in a Gun Shell by Andrew Mussey
- 2P START! by Tim Harding and Ray Hargreaves
- Pop Culture Tragedy by Josh Stoik
9 September, 2009
We've added two new comics today:
- Luke Surl Comics, by Luke Surl.
- Codex Optica, by Paul Dwyer.
UPDATE: We found the bug and we think we've fixed this problem. However the fix required changing the way the number of strips you see in your feed is calculated, so you may see a one-off glitch in how many new strips you receive at the next feed update. Things should return to normal after that. Sorry about the mess!
8 September, 2009
We've added four new comics today:
- featuring Talking Guinea Pigs!, by Jeff Mumm.
- Fit and the Conniptions, by Wayne Myers.
- Nicky510, by Crow.
- xkcd, by Randall Munroe.
7 September, 2009
We've changed the custom feed generation code to enable disk caching and reduce our processing overhead. This may result in the next update of your feeds being delayed by a few hours. If you notice that, don't panic; updates will become more regular again after this adjustment.
5 September, 2009
We've just added the award-winning Dinosaur Comics, by the multi-talented Ryan North! This giant of the webcomics genre features the philosophical meanderings of T. Rex, Utahraptor, Dromiceiomimus, and, occasionally, GOD!
3 September, 2009
